Scope and Contents
Summaries of telephone conversations between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, and Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, Taipei, Tientsin and Tokyo, Matheson & Co., London, and Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd, Singapore. The files also include some copies of semi-official correspondence and notes of meetings of Heads of Departments in Hong Kong. The main subject is trade in a wide range of commodities, including the involvement of the company's subsidiaries Ewo Breweries Ltd, Ewo Cotton Mills, Jardine Engineering Corporation Ltd and Shanghai & Hongkong Wharf Co. Ltd. The later conversations discuss the closure of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd's offices in China. Index entries for many of the staff and companies featured in the conversations are given below.

Existence and Location of Copies
E15 contains the copies of the telephone conversations between Hong Kong and Shanghai of 1950-1951 that belonged to Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, although there are some discrepancies between the contents of the two series.
