Scope and Contents There is no gaol delivery. With the exception of the Commonwealth period (1652-9), this is the only roll in the series to be entirely in English - following the Proceedings in Courts of Justice Act, 1730 (effective from 1733), English became the obligatory language for written court records. 1r.
