Scope and Contents
There is a contemporary index to the cases affixed to the first membrane. There is no gaol delivery.
- 1r. Final concord: Robert Collison, plaintiff, and Thomas Bruce and Margaret, his wife, defendants, relating to nine acres of marsh land with appurtenances in Littleport.
- 1r. Final concord: Isaac Jackson, plaintiff, and Martha Bentley, widow, and William Bentley, defendants, relating to a messuage and nine acres of marsh land with appurtenances in Ely.
- 2r. John Walsham of Haddenham, labourer, answered Richard Gooday in an action of trespass and assault that on 10 July 1715 he assaulted Gooday at Haddenham. Walsham arrested; to pay costs and damages.
- 2r. Richard Repley of March, carpenter, is summoned to answer Thomas Edwards esquire, Bailiff of the Liberty, in an action of debt of 40 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 5 Mar. 1715 at Wisbech. The entry is incomplete.
- 2r. Martha Clack of Stretham, widow, answered Joseph Savage in an action of trespass on the case that on 3 Jun. 1715 she slandered Savage at Stretham by saying publicly, ‘You are a rogue and I will prove it and you killed your two wives [Mary and Alice]’. The entry is incomplete.
- 2v. George Cott complains against John Porter of Ely, yeoman, and Isaac Jackson of Ely, yeoman, in an action of trespass that on 14 Aug. 1715 they broke into Cott’s house at Ely and took a bellmettle [?bell-metal] worth 20 shillings and a pair of iron pot hooks worth ten shillings. The entry is incomplete.
- 2v. John [? Mollineny] of Ely, porter, answered James [?] in an action of trespass on the case relating to a debt in the sum of 100 shillings. John fined; to pay costs and damages.
- 2v. Henry Nunn of Ely, shoemaker, answered Thomas Rayner in an action of trespass and assault that on 19 Sept. 1715 he assaulted Rayner at Ely. The entry is incomplete.
- 3r. John Okey of Haddenham, wheelwright, answered Edward Walby junior in an action of trespass on the case relating to a debt in the sum of 26 shillings and four pence for diverse goods and wares, 1 Jun. 1715 at Haddenham. The entry is incomplete.
