Preamble: letters patent, writs of assize and gaol delivery commission.
1. Thomas Wylkynnes of Haddenham, labourer, is indicted that on 27 Mar. 1573 he broke and entered the close and house of Robert Reynold at Haddenham, and feloniously took and carried away 20 pence in numbered money held in a bladder [purse]. Not guilty.
2. Thomas Bosworthe of Wisbech, weaver, and Thomas Blande of Wisbech, labourer, are indicted that on 1 May 1573 they feloniously took and carried away a wether worth three shillings and four pence from Alice [?Brompton] at Wisbech. Not guilty.
3. Thomas Bosworthe and Thomas Blande are similarly indicted that on 1 May 1573 they feloniously took and carried away the carcass of a wether worth [?11 pence] from [Alice Brompton] at Wisbech. To be whipped. [The text in this entry is faded and difficult to decipher; it is not clear whether the accused confessed or were found guilty.]

4. John Gryffyn of Ely, cook, Leonard Preston of Ely, labourer, Agnes Corye of Ely, spinster, Thomas Grave of Ely, shepherd, John Shipman of Haddenham, shepherd, and Nicholas Hallywell of Ely, horse-courser, are freed and acquitted.
5. Nicholas Hallywell of Ely, horse-courser, is granted bail. Nicholas Gybson of Ely, labourer, Richard Stringer of Ely, fishmonger, and John Corye of Ely, waterman, act as surety.
6. Richard Love of Ely, boatwright, is granted bail. Thomas Love of Littleport, husbandman, and Robert [Rust] of Ely, draper, act as surety.
7. Richard Fermer is bound to answer Robert Robynson in an action of trespass on the case. Robert Lynde of Wisbech, yeoman, and Thomas Edwards of Wisbech, yeoman, act as surety.
8. Richard Stringer is bound to answer George Slater in an action of debt. Thomas Delf of Wisbech, husbandman, and Thomas Thornton of Wisbech, husbandman, act as surety.
9. Francis Archer is bound to answer Edward Wylks in an action of trespass on the case. Simon Fincham of Outwell, gentleman, acts as surety.
10. Francis Archer is bound to answer Mark Saunders in an action of trespass on the case. Simon Fincham of Outwell, gentleman, acts as surety.
11. Felix Issington of Downham, labourer, is indicted as a vagrant with no land, master or trade, 1 July 1573 at Downham contrary to statute. William Franklyn, gentleman, is to take Issington into service for a period of one year.
12. William Franklyn of [King’s] Lynn, Norfolk, gentleman, is bound to take Felix Issington, vagabond and beggar, into his service for one year under financial penalty.

13. Richard Upcher of Sutton, yeoman, William Thomas of Sutton, husbandman, and Henry Blythe of Sutton, husbandman, answered Richard Rande in an action that they conspired between themselves to [say or accuse] Upcher of feloniously taking and carrying away three willow setts to the value of two pence and a half-penny leading Upcher to be arrested and imprisoned at Ely Barton, 20 Apr. 1571. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
14. William Overstowe, [place of abode and occupation not stated], is summoned to answer Robert Sherde in an action of debt of four pounds relating to the sale of a quantity of Flemish soap worth 28 shillings, 5 Apr. 1568, half a barrel of speckled soap, 29 Sept. 1568, two cades of herrings, 14 Mar. 1569, and a barrel of herrings, 20 Mar. 1569. Overstowe fined; to pay damages.

15. Thomas Ruste of Ely, inn holder, alias husbandman, is summoned to answer John Rowse, merchant, in an action of debt of 12 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 17 Mar. 1573 at Ely. To proceed to jury trial.
16. Richard Springer of Ely, husbandman, answered George Slater and Margaret, his wife, in an action of debt of 40 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 22 Oct. 1571 at Ely. The bond of obligation is recited. To proceed to jury trial.

17. Francis Archer of Emneth, Norfolk, husbandman, answered Mark Saunders in an action of trespass on the case that on 10 July 1573 at Wisbech he slandered Saunders by publicly calling him a rebel and no better than a rebel. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
18. William Franklyn per his attorney complains against Francis Archer relating to the sale of a cart on 29 Sept. 1572. To proceed to jury trial.
19. William Castell of Haddenham, husbandman, is summoned to answer John Parke in an action of debt of 48 shillings relating to a bond of obligation of 23 Feb. 1573. To proceed to jury trial.

20. Francis Archer of Emneth, Norfolk, husbandman, answered Edward Wilks in an action of trespass on the case that on 16 July 1573 he slandered Wilks publicly calling him a false, foresworn man. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
21. Robert More of Ely, waterman, answered Thomas Burle of Southery, Norfolk, husbandman, in an action of debt of three pounds and 14 shillings according to a bond of obligation of 27 Aug. 1572. More fined; to pay damages.

22. Thomas Walker, [place of abode and occupation not stated], is summoned to answer John Colvyll esquire in an action of debt of four pounds relating to the sale and supply of a ruby-coloured cow, 10 July 1572 at Newton, and the sale of a steer, 5 May 1573 at Newton. Walker fined; to pay damages.
23. Richard Upcher of Sutton, yeoman, Henry Blythe of Sutton, husbandman, and William Thomas of Sutton, husbandman, answered Richard Rande in an action of trespass that on 10 June 1572 they assaulted and imprisoned Rande at Sutton. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
24. Thomas Robynson per his attorney complains against Richard Fermer in an action of debt and breach of promise relating to ten measures of good wheat [or grain], 1 Jan. 1573 at Wisbech.

25. Andrew Malden of Ely, husbandman, is summoned to answer Agnes March, widow and executor of the will of Robert March of Ely, gentleman, deceased, and Thomas March, son and heir of Robert March, in an action of debt of 200 pounds according to a bond of obligation of 10 Dec. 1572 at Ely. Requests leave to imparl to the next session.
26. Robert Aunger of Ely, yeoman, is summoned to answer William Lestryche, alias Bocher, of [Ashdon], Essex, carpenter, in an action of debt of 200 pounds according to a bond of obligation of 20 Feb. 1564. Requests leave to imparl to the next session.
27. John Gybbes of Sutton, husbandman and executor of the last will and testament of William Bucke of Sutton deceased, is summoned to answer Richard Pyckarde of Wistow, Huntingdonshire, husbandman, in an action of debt of 80 pounds according to a bond of obligation of 3 Feb. 1570 at Sutton. Requests leave to imparl to the next session.
