Astérix, 1987 - 1990
Material relating to a collaboration between Spitting Image Productions Limited and Les Éditions Albert-René to adapt the Astérix comic book for television. The production never went beyond the development phase, but would have involved life-sized puppets made by SIPL. The majority of items are from 1990, when the production development took place. However, there are some items that date earlier.

A file containing two examples of the same Lion de Bronze Award certificate, presented to Spitting Image Productions Limited, at the 35th Festival International Du Film Publicitaire. These certificates relate to two commercials produced by SIPL for the chewing gum brand, Chiclets.
These certificates accompanied an award statue [see entry MS Add.10275/3/11/13/1].
Award Medal/Brooch, 1987
A Diamond Videoclip Award medal/brooch for 'best group video,' awarded to the Genesis song, Land of Confusion. The production of this music video was undertaken by Spitting Image Productions Limited, and included Spitting Image puppets.
The medal/brooch comes in its original presentation case. The item is accompanied by a certificate [see entry MS Add.10275/3/11/10/2].

Award Statue, 1989
A London International Advertising Award statue for the 'TV/Cinema Winner: Media Promotion' category. Spitting Image Productions Limited were presented this award for their work on a commercial for German magazine, Der Spiegel.
The statue bears a cast bronze representation of Greek mythological figure, Icarus, standing upon a marble plinth.

Battle - Codename: Conquest! Artwork, 1988
A bundle of nine panels, separated and mounted into three lots, which contain the original artwork for the cartoon strip, 'Battle - Code Name Conquest!' (SI/431 (c) and SI/432 (c)). This cartoon strip was produced by freelance artist, Tony McSweeney, and used in the Spitting Image Productions Limited publication, The Giant Komic Book, published in 1988. This cartoon strip is a play on the Bayeux Tapestry.

A visifile containing original artwork, along with some photocopies of this artwork and photographs of the finished product, relating to a themed panorama project undertaken by Spitting Image Engineering for a bird park, based in Japan [client is unknown]. There are nine drawings, eight of which are in pencil, and these illustrations were done by Spitting Image Workshop artist, Pablo Bach (SI/1988 (a to i)).

Book Stand, 1993
A large, life-sized promotional book stand for the Spitting Image Productions Limited publication, Thatcha! The Read Maggie Memoirs. The stand features the 'Maggalyn' puppet illustration, which depicts Margaret Thatcher in a spoof of Marilyn Monroe in a white dress; photographic image taken by Steve Bendelack (SI/263 (a)). The image on the stand is accompanied by text, relating to the sale of the book, including a red block of text censoring Thatcher's groin.

A file containing six plastic sleeves holding sets of 63mm photographic transparencies, which feature plasticine model portrait images of the following Swedish politicians: Ingvar Carlsson, Olof Johansson, Carl Bildt, Kjell-Olof Feldt, Lars Werner and Bengt Westerberg (SI/1218-1223). These images were taken by Jackie Philips, in January 1988, and the work was commissioned by the Swedish company, Brindfors Advertising Agency.
