Australia Trips, 1994 - 1996, 1997 - 1999
Scope and Contents
A box containing two sub-files, which hold material relating to two trips made by Roger Law to Australia. The first sub-file relates to Law's attendance and participation at the IDEAS Student Design Conference, held in Melbourne in April 1995. There is also post-conference material, such as thank you letters and other items.
The second sub-file concerns Roger Law's, along with his wife Deirdre Amsden's, tour of the country, between September and November 1996. There were multiple reasons for this trip: a vacation; to explore the possibility of Law obtaining an artist in residency position at a university, in collaboration with the organisation, International Specialised Skills (ISS); and for Law to attend and participate in a conference held by The Australian Black and White Artists' Club. While in the country, Law also held meetings with television executives and other individuals. The contents of the file also includes correspondence from staff at Spitting Image Productions Limited, concerning work matters, while Law is in Australia. Also present in this second file are a number of items from 1997, relating to the termination of Rebecca Hossack's post as Cultural Development Officer, at Australia House, London; and some documents from ISS, dated 1999.
Material within the sub-files include, but are not limited to: contact lists, correspondence, ephemera, event schedules, travel documentation, and a proposal for a puppet making university course.
