Athena Cards, 1988
Scope and Contents
A file containing examples of five one-sided cards, produced by Athena Cards International, which feature photographic images of plasticine model illustrations made by Spitting Image Productions Limited, and bearing the Spitting Image logo. The following individuals are represented on these cards: Prince Charles [now King Charles III] (SI/42); Leonard Nimoy as the Star Trek character, Spock (SI/103); Sylvester Stallone as the film character, Rambo (SI/104 (a)); Mikhail Gorbachev (SI/105); and Queen Elizabeth II (SI/189).
All photographic images were taken by John Lawrence Jones, and some of the illustrations also feature in other merchandise, including the Spitting Images publications and cards produced by Hype Cards.
