Thomas Beesley was employed by Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, 1952-1955. He became the company's last Resident Director at Shanghai in 1953 before the closure of its China offices, and oversaw the transfer of the firm's assets to the Chung Hwa Development Co. in 1954.
