John Johnstone Paterson was employed by Jardine, Matheson & Co. in Hong Kong and Shanghai, 1908-1945, and was a Director of the company, 1921-1945. He was the son of William Paterson and the brother of Robert Jardine Paterson, both of Jardine, Matheson & Co.
