Biography

The British & Chinese Corporation Ltd was founded in 1908 by Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd and the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (who served as joint agents) to finance the construction of railways in China. It was closely involved in the development of China's railways.
