The surviving records relate chiefly to the course post 1945. For the period 1925-40, there are minute books, examination papers and photographs only. Thereafter, the records cover committee business, student administration, curriculum delivery and review, examinations and conferences.

Original records of Cambridge University Women's Boat Club are few before the mid-1970s. Earlier information will be found in the personal recollections, papers and photographs of former members solicited by Iris Preston and others in section 3. Fund raising records are in both sections 1 and 4.

The archives of Association of Cambridge University Assistants cover the rull range of operations and activities.

The archives comprise a full record of the Union’s activities from 1815 until the middle of the twentieth century. Thereafter the records are somewhat patchy. Major series of records include laws and regulations of the Society, annual reports, committee minute books, records of debates, suggestions books and photographs of speakers.

The volume comprises society membership lists (front and rear) which are annotated with term and home address, committee positions held and dates of death; and, in the main part of the volume, records meetings of the group. Each entry details the date and location of meeting, the names of those in attendance and gives what may be a score for an unidentified game played between opposing teams from each of the universities.

The volume was used to note the title of the guest speaker's paper, their name and their area of expertise or position. Below this, members of the audience signed their name and gave their address. The names of members of the committee are noted, as are the menus for the club's annual dinners. The speaker and lecture title for meetings held on 15 February, 4 March and May 1971 are annotated inside the front cover.

The minute books, diaries, accounts and visual material in this collection reflect chiefly on the annual Boat Race against the University of Oxford but also on the normal business of Cambridge University Boat Club.

Folder includes Chess Club records accumulated by Donald Nicholson with handwritten notes and correspondence between members as well as organising matches with other colleges and universities. Also included are papers relating to matches with chess notations detailing each move as well as Cambridge University Chess League matches and standings.

This volume contains meeting minutes and facetious reports of club events, both signed. Club events included dinners, debates, symposiums, talks and play readings.

Records of the Alumni Association (founded in 1922), Amalgamation Club and various sports clubs and academic, dramatic and musical societies, although survival and transfer of records is sporadic. Also includes records of various social clubs and the May Ball. There are many sports clubs and other societies, such as The Theological Society, for which no records are extant or available.
