The University Archives are generally freely available to the holder of a reader's ticket for the Manuscripts Reading Room at Cambridge University Library, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DR. Biographical / Historical
The society is known to have existed from at least 1890 and was an intellectual and social society largely drawing its membership from medical students. Immediate Source of Acquisition
The records were transferred to the University Archives from the Manuscripts Department on 18 October 2007. Item SOC.70.2 had been presented by Sir George Pickering, FRS, to the Manuscripts Department on 2 December 1977 and had been given the classmark Ms.Add.8165. Items SOC.70.1.1-2 had been deposited on permanent loan by Cambridge University Medical Society with the Manuscripts Department on 30 June 1978 and had been given the classmark Ms.Add.8174
