A pamphlet from the African Archives series published by Oxford University Press and Neczam and printed by Associated Printers Ltd, Lusaka, Zambia. The pamphlet is comprised of an image and short biography of Kivoi of the Kamba (d. 1851), Mkwawa of the Hehe (d. 1898), Mbatian of the Masai (c. 1820-1890), Muteesa of Buganda (c. 1838-1884), Mirambo of the Nyamwezi (c. 1840-1884) and Seyyid Barghash of Zanzibar (c. 1837-1888).
