The caption continues: 'visiting Durban from the Stanger district, wearing the married woman's special skirt of soft black skin, kilted, numerous necklaces, and beaded headdress on her finely plaited hair, rubbed with fat and clay. The children wear only a girdle and necklace of beads. 1948.'

192 x 139 mm. Showing a large group of Zulu warriors gathered for a dance in open country. The majority of the men hold white shields, the insignia of the experienced warrior, and one figure is dressed in European clothes. The photograph is almost certainly by Robert Harris.
