Letter from James Welldon (Harrow School [Middlesex]) to Lady Randolph [Churchill] in which he discusses "Jack's" [John S Churchill's] future career, advises that he should learn Greek and should spend six months with a master before going to Oxford and comments that "Jack" is "old for his years" and on his own unselfishness in advising that he should be taken away from school.

Copy of a letter from Jennie Cornwallis West [Lady Randolph Churchill](Sunderland House, Mayfair [London]) to ?Swiftly concerning the separation of Consuelo [Duchess of Marlborough] from "Sunny" [Charles, 9th Duke of Marlborough]. She comments that Consuelo had "brought the whole thing on herself" and on the reaction of society "How the women who have had 20 lovers & are kept by rich Jews et autres will be virtuously shocked..".

Copy of a letter from Jennie Cornwallis West [Lady Randolph Churchill](12 Bolton Street [London]) to Consuelo [Duchess of Marlborough, later Consuelo Balsan] in which she says that she has been "deeply wounded" by Consuelo's treatment of her, describes the strength of their friendship and comments "you are not in a position to alienate a friend" [a reference to her separation from Charles, 9th Duke of Marlborough].

Letter from George [Cornwallis-West](Arthur's, St James' Street [London]) to "Missie" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he discusses his forthcoming interview with [Colonel] Arthur Paget; says that he is devising schemes for the defence of London; and that "Jack" [John S Churchill] has "opened his heart" about Pamela [Plowden, later Pamela, Lady Lytton] and WSC.

Letter from George [Cornwallis-West](Invercauld, Ballater, Aberdeenshire [Scotland]) to "Missie" [Lady Randolph Churchill] discussing the possibility that they may marry. He observes that she changes her mind frequently, says that he will not marry her until he has more money, that he has quarrelled with many of his relations and friends and that WSC made "strong arguments" in favour of leaving matters as they are.
