An undated, colour print of an engraving 'dessiné et gravé par Ambroise Tardieu', entitled 'Guerrier des terres Australes, coiffé comme les Suëves, et peint de rouge and de noir comme les Aries, peuple de la Germanie'. The print is mounted on a piece of card with the title 'ancient costumes of Germans compared with the savages of Australia'.

199 x 146 mm. Information given states '3 spans of 100 feet each, piers of Fitzroy (N.S.W.) iron, with 25 approach spans. Total length 1050 feet'. A view from one side along the bridge which crosses the river, here seen in spate. The main section is an all-metal construction, changing to wooden supports on the far side of the river.
