An undated, colour print of an engraving 'dessiné et gravé par Ambroise Tardieu', entitled 'Guerrier des terres Australes, coiffé comme les Suëves, et peint de rouge and de noir comme les Aries, peuple de la Germanie'. The print is mounted on a piece of card with the title 'ancient costumes of Germans compared with the savages of Australia'.

A view from one side along the bridge which crosses the river, here seen in spate. The main section is an all-metal construction, changing to wooden supports on the far side of the river.

Contains Kodachromes, processed in England March 1963, arranged by processing number. The village mentioned on slides 21-31 appears to be Sabadrau, but this has not been found on any map of Fiji and has been represented by 'S' in most of the captions.
