Biographical / Historical
John Ewart Marnham accompanied Nigel Fisher, Permanent Under Secretary of State for the Colonies and his Private Secretary, John Brian Pearce, on a visit to Fiji in January 1963, mentioned in the Fiji Annual Report for that year. It seems likely from the dating of the slides that Marnham stayed in Fiji after Fisher's departure, visited other islands and returned to England by March. The Tonga Annual Report mentioned his visits there without giving details, but there is no reference to either Fisher or Marnham in the annual reports of other Pacific Colonies.
