Biography
Robert Brand Polk was born in Washington D.C. He joined Matheson & Co. Ltd in 1964, and moved to Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd's Tokyo office in 1965. He was employed subsequently for the Jardine Engineering Corporation Ltd and in Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s Private Office at Hong Kong. He became the Manager of the Thailand office of Jardine Waugh Ltd in December 1972, and a Director of Matheson & Co. Ltd in London in 1975. He worked for Jardine Matheson Australia Ltd in Melbourne from 1978 until his resignation from the company in 1983.
