Rodney Drake Palmer Michell joined Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd's Tokyo office in 1965 and worked subsequently in Singapore. He was a Director of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, 1976-1984, Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd, 1984-1987, and Matheson & Co. Ltd, 1994-1998.
