Biography

John Featherstone Owen joined Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in 1907, and worked initially for the Shipping Office of the Indo-China Steam Navigation Co. Ltd in Shanghai. He was subsequently Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s Agent at Chungking, Hankow and Tientsin, and was in charge of the Jardine Engineering Corporation Ltd, Shanghai, 1929-1937. He retired in 1947. He was a Director of Matheson & Co. Ltd, 1939-1967.
