Copies of unnumbered semi-official letters, 2 February-13 May 1942, and nos 1-71, 21 May 1942-15 January 1944, from H.H. Lennox, Balfour, Guthrie & Co. Ltd, New York, to B.D.F. Beith, Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, with enclosed letters and papers. There are also copies of other letters from H.H. Lennox to B.D.F. Beith and J.F. Owen. The subjects covered in the file include (among others) bristles, British & Chinese Corporation Ltd, Chang Kia Ngau, W.S. Dupree (staff), 'Gripsholm', death of P.C. Mansfield (staff), Reena Mansfield (widow of P.C. Mansfield), repatriation of British citizens from the East, S.S. 'Seawitch' insurance, staff, S. Stucken (staff), tea and U.S. dollar savings certificates.
