Scope and Contents

Copies of semi-official letters nos 1-75 from B.D.F. Beith, W.J. Keswick and J.F. Owen, Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, to W.S. Dupree, [Balfour, Guthrie & Co. Ltd], New York, 28 February 1944-29 October 1945, with enclosed letters and papers. There are also copies of telegrams exchanged between Matheson & Co. Ltd and W.S. Dupree, 18 March 1944-30 October 1945, and a letter from H.H. Lennox to W.S. Dupree, London, 18 February 1944, regarding the handover of his responsibilities in New York to Dupree. The subjects covered in the file include (among others) the Ewo Cold Store, Ewo Cotton Mills, finance, Indo-China Steam Navigation Co. Ltd, Peter Morrison (staff), Arthur Piercy (staff), property, C.B.P. Ryder (staff), silk, staff and interned staff.
