Scope and Contents A set of ivory travelling cutlery from Tanganyika designed during the early 1920s. It belonged to Dr James Van Derwent, a Colonial Medical Officer, who served at Songea. It comprises a mustard pot, egg cup, salt cellar, fork, spoon and small knife, as well as a lady’s card case, pen-holder and comb.
