The Town Hall, Port Elizabeth, 1865 - 1878
188 x 134 mm. Showing the Market Square façade of the Town Hall, a two storey building with a porticoed entrance. The foundation stone was laid in 1858 by Sir George Grey and the building completed in 1862. A tower was later added to the building.

The captions have been used as titles and may include language which is offensive, inaccurate or inappropriate. They have been retained to reflect the context of their creation. The captions from the album have been removed, and the longer descriptive extracts taken from the typewritten sheet (dated April 10 1898) are inserted with the photographs.
