Showing waste being dug into a compost heap for eventual use as fertiliser in the forest nursery. The typewritten caption on the reverse reads 'Offal and other waste material from the butcher's slabs goes directly into a compost pit from which the cimpost [sic] is eventually taken for use as fertiliser in the forest nursery. In the nursery are grown fruit and shade trees for distribution to the people'.

Showing two girls spinning yarn in a compound. The typewritten caption on the reverse reads 'Here is a spotlessly clean compound in the newly planned town of Takalafiya. The two girls sit in the shade of an orange tree and spin. Contrast this picture with DW.2122 which shows the squalor of a compound in the old town'.
