Southern Nigeria photographs 1908-1910
Scope and Contents
A collection of prints, each measuring approximately 110 x 55 mm. A number of photographs in the album relate to the Northern Hinterland Expedition and the compiler of the album was clearly connected with the Southern Nigeria Regiment of the West African Frontier Force.

Biographical / Historical
In a letter to the Librarian, dated 1974, D.C. Dorward, Centre of West African Studies, Birmingham University, suggests that the photographs were taken by Captain Mair. An extract from this letter is stored with the photographs.

Language of Materials
Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
The photographs were originally mounted in an album with captions, but this was disbound and discarded due to flood damage in 1980. The prints are generally in fair condition.
