The collection consists of a negatives album, produced by Lennon Ltd., Cape Town, containing 125 x 95 mm negatives and an envelope with six further negatives of the same size. Some are poor photographs but many that are apparently very faint contain a good deal of detail. Seven modern prints have also been made and are listed as Y305U/105-111. The images were taken by Albert Ernest Lamb and the captions are from the list in the front of the album.

Avenue, Bishop's Court, near Cape Town, 1888

192 x 126 mm. A view looking along an avenue of fir trees at Bishop's Court, a farm and vineyard between Kirstenbosch and Claremont originally named Bosheuval. Bought by Bishop Gray in 1848, it was planned to use the house for a school and was so employed until 1851 when the Collegiate School moved to Woodlands at Rondebosch.

102 x 152 mm. The caption continues: 'an off-shoot of the Zulus. They live in the Richmond area, Natal. They are very fond of bright colours, and are very much decorated with beads and bright wools. The majority of these were taken in the north of the province; at Magoebaskoof (two visits); Tzaneen (including a sequence showing sisal growing and processing); Vendaland in the extreme north and a few coming south to Orhigstad and Graskop. A group taken at Mala Mala camp is assumed to be in the Transvaal, though the precise location has not been found. The section concludes with a visit to a fishing lodge at Dulstroom in December 1969.
