199 x 146 mm. A view looking down on the mine, with workings extending into the hillside behind. The Long Tunnel Mine opened in 1865 and proved to be the most productive of Victorian mines: over 815,000 oz. of gold were recovered in the 50 years of its existence.

(1898-1960) consultant Physician at the West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth, was a pioneer in the treatment of elderly patients. Her work was recognised when she was created C.B.E. in the New Years Honours of 1960, but she was killed in a car crash in France on 5th September of the same year.
