This article examines the South Australian Colonial Secretary's family background in England. It explores his association with the East Midland towns of Stamford, Nottingham and Oakham, where the family had a silk manufacturing business. A letter filed with the article contains some information regarding RCMS 278/30 Watercolour of Robert Gouger's residence.

Elsie Campbell, in ‘Last Witness for Robert Louis Stevenson’ (Melbourne, 1960), states that this photograph was taken by a Lutheran missionary on her way home from work in Melanesia
Robert Louis Stevenson's tomb, 1899 - 1900
Stevenson died on 3 Dec. 1894. He was buried on the summit of Mount Vada, where by 1897 a tomb was constructed. The image shows a quotation from his poem ‘Requiem’ inscribed upon its side. No print.
