Scope and Contents

Two soft-covered albums containing prints, generally measuring approximately 150 x 110 mm. The prints are uncaptioned but have identifying negative numbers corresponding to those in the archives of the GSWA: all information has been kindly supplied by J.H. Lord, Director, Geological Survey, Department of Mines, Perth, on the basis of these numbers. The photographs themselves show landscape, geological formations and mining activity in West Australia and were taken by various photographers as follows: Becher, S.J., Mines Department, WA (?1896-1897), Temporary Inspector of Mines, Northern Goldfield; Blatchford, T., GSWA 1897-1899, geologist; Campbell, W.D., GSWA 1898-1909, geologist; Gibson, C.G., GSWA 1900-1910, geologist; Greehams Studio, commercial firm (?possibly Greenham and Evans); Irwin, R.H., Mines Department draughtsman (n.d.); Purdie, A., West Australian Newspaper Co.; Simpson, E.S., GSWA 1897-1922, chemist-mineralogist; Simpson, W.W., no information, possibly local professional photographer; Woodward, H.P., Government Geologist, GSWA 1887-1895, Deputy Government Geologist, GSWA 1904-1917.
