Half-plate. Looking towards the sea. North of Usukan Bay in the West Coast Residence. Immediately in the foreground is a characteristic piece of swamp : alluvial deposit brought down by the river, covered with tropical jungle, and often stretching for miles on each side. Quite typical Borneo scene.

146 x 103 mm. Head on view of the main façade of the Sarawak Museum, an ashlar faced two storey (plus attic) building with a verandah running along the first floor between the pavilions at each end.
