Soldiers from the Gold Coast served in Togo, the Cameroons and East Africa. See ‘The Gold Coast Regiment in the East African Campaign’ by Sir Hugh Clifford (1920) and H.A. Gailey Clifford (1982) pp. 84-86. The photograph was probably taken on the return of the Regiment in September 1918, but the parade is not mentioned in either book.
