Endorsed with a financial calculation and, in an 18th-century hand: 'Abutting against the Parsonage / House', 'Clavering sold to John / Bass 2 conveyances', and 'No 3'.

In consideration of the sum of #30 duly paid to him, William Ingram of Pudding Lane, London, salter, sells his 10 acres of 'fenny ground' in Sutton, part of Bedford Level, to the present occupant Francis Garrard. 22 Nov 1684 (36 Charles II), signed and sealed by William Ingram (seal wanting), delivered in the presence of Ja Wheeler, George Wheeler, and Thomas Raymond. Endorsed as entered in the Bedford Level Company Register on 25 Nov 1684.

The book includes his earlier, 1948, memoir, 'Father of the man', references to which are given as in the composite volume.
