Professional Correspondence, 1970, 1974
Scope and Contents
A bundle of typescript letters, both originals and copies, which were either sent by, received by or sent on behalf of Roger Law. These items relate to Law's professional activities, and all but one were produced in 1974. The material present relate to the following, but are not limited to: Law's submission of a Richard Nixon caricature to Milton Glaser at the New York Magazine, and its rejection for being 'too vigorous' for the publication; a request to Hunter S. Thompson for him to write a piece on Nixon for a 'Good-bye Dick' feature in The Sunday Times Magazine; copyright for an illustration submitted for the book, The English Difference; issues over the journalist, Hans Gamber, using Law's work without payment for the former's new publication; requests to the London Library for Law to be given access on behalf of The Sunday Times; and a potential offer of work from the publication, Novum Gebruachsgraphik. There is also a couple of letters from Barclays Bank, which may or may not relate to Law's professional activities, and a couple of internal memoranda from The Sunday Times Magazine.
