Glen Line Ltd
Biography
The Glen Line was a British shipping line operating primarily between the United Kingdom and the Far East. The company originated in the 1850s with the shipping operations of the Gow and McGregor families of Glasgow. It was incorporated as the Glen Line Ltd in 1910, and amalgamated with the Shire Line in 1920. It was acquired by Alfred Holt & Co. in 1935, and formed Ben-Ocean Services with the Ben Line in 1974. The last of its own ships was sold in 1978.
