This series mainly comprises reference requests for employment and nominations for awards, including the Nobel Prize. Also included are off-prints of scientific and philosophical papers. The material relating to groups and organisations has been arranged into a separate series.

Correspondence between Churchill, Truman, President of the United States and Attlee, Prime Minister, on the publication of Britain's 1943 agreement with the United States on the use of the atomic bomb, given that there was now an American air base in East Anglia. Other subjects include Churchill's good wishes on the Korean War.

The collection comprises a wide variety of material from a number of different sources which have been deemed too small to be considered individual collections in their own right and have been grouped together under the heading "miscellaneous". Subjects covered include First and Second World Wars, the Falklands Campaign, and recollections of Sir Winston Churchill.
