Scope and Contents
Material relating to Philip Noel-Baker, including speeches made between 1959 and 1982 relating to global nuclear disarmament collated by Frank Field, formed United Nations Association - United Kingdom Director. The collection also contains a book authored by Noel-Baker - a possible later draft of Third Time Dead, renamed 'Hawkes vs. Doves', which Frank Field sought to edit and publish. Subsequently there is correspondence and research undertaken by Frank Field for his editorship, as well as some relating to his work and an annotated copy of the book.
These papers cover Noel-Baker’s work in global nuclear disarmament specifically, and contain a book written by Noel-Baker on the successes and failings of the campaign for disarmament. This was edited by Frank Field, but never published. The collection also contains speeches by Noel-Baker, some audio and some handwritten that Field had acquired and as a result, correspondence relating to his work.
