Edmund Tyrrell was buried at St Bene't's on 13 February 1626/7, apparently in considerable debt to the college. Dr Butts assisted Tyrrell's family in sorting matters out, to good effect, as the increasingly affectionate letters of Tyrrell's borther William attest.

Nos 6 to 14 appear to relate to actual or potential hearings in 1573, either before Matthew Parker, or Lord Burghley, or university authorities; nos 15 to 34 probably all relate to the Chancery hearing, or hearing before commissioners appointed by Chancery,, in 1575. The documents bearing the signature of Thomas Legge, Commissary, on the dorse may have served more than one purpose.

Originally rolled together randomly as 'Old College accounts', many dating from the 1570s. Included among them were two stray leaves from the Liber Albus, a bifolium from the volume of College Accounts, 1479 to 1534.
