The reading 'Gylman' is uncertain, but the Gylman family had holdings in 1549 which correspond with these.

The documents bearing the signature of Thomas Legge, Commissary, on the dorse may have served more than one purpose.

Edmund Tyrrell was buried at St Bene't's on 13 February 1626/7, apparently in considerable debt to the college. Dr Butts assisted Tyrrell's family in sorting matters out, to good effect, as the increasingly affectionate letters of Tyrrell's borther William attest.
Acknowledgement that the £1020 due to John Spencer on a bond for £2040 of 3 Feb. 1688 is 'over and above all sums of money by him at any time heretofore paid to me'., 1688-02-29
