They include slides of the very attractive views from the garden and a series of aerial views taken at varying heights in May 1972. This section concludes with photographs of members of the domestic staff taken just before Marnham left St Lucia (dated Oct 72 nos 18-25). Slides have been renumbered but arrangement in the file remains as per the original typescript catalogue.

Built between 1873 and 1876 on the site of an older house which was destroyed by fire, it was first occupied by Henry Turner Irving (Governor of Trinidad and Tobago 1875-1880).

Saint-Barthèlemy lies north of Saint Kitts and is separated by a narrow channel from the island of Saint Martin.

In the harbour at the right can be seen Rat Island, connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway and at this period housing a signal station and an asylum for people affected by leprosy. In the foreground of the photograph stands a lighthouse, with a water reservoir beyond and the twin towers of the Cathedral visible on the skyline.
