The bearded figure is possibly William Henry Whyam (born 1848), a member of the Executive and Legislative Councils of Antigua and the Leeward Islands at various times. The figure seated on the left in the front row is probably the Captain, Mr Peters.

There is an accompanying photocopy of a typed description of the grant and of the translation given in A. Warner, 'Sir Thomas Warner' (1933), pp. 28-33.

In the foreground of the photograph stands a lighthouse, with a water reservoir beyond and the twin towers of the Cathedral visible on the skyline.
