Daniel Parke, Governor of Antigua. Killed 1710, 1913
148 x 187 mm. A photograph of a half-length portrait (artist unknown) showing Daniel Parkes standing beside a globe holding a pair of dividers. After service in the army under Marlborough, Parkes (1669-1710) was appointed Governor of the Leewards in 1706. He was murdered by insurrectionists in Antigua on December 7 1710.
