Scope and Contents From the File: John Ewart Marnham had admirable opportunities for photographing flora and fauna during his stay in South Africa and in this section his own arrangement under species has been largely followed; the divisions are: lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos [rhinocesaurus] and hippos [hippopotamus], zebras, giraffes, buffalos, kudu, other deer and miscellaneous. Beside it stands the stores, a small circular hut with thatched roof. The town (now abandoned) was named after Alex Forbes, who discovered gold in the region in the late 1870s. It is situated about 15 miles west of Mbabane.
