Quarter-plate (landscape format). About three - quarter mile inland. In the hollow immediately in foreground was the ancient harbour of Chittium (modern Kition : Old testament Ships of Chittum). Slipways for the galleys can be traced by the eye of the imaginative antiquarian. In foreground is a plantation of young bamboo trees; on top of the front rise are some date palms.

Quarter-plate. Boys of the Greek Elementary School of Larnaca (attached to a church in similar way to old voluntary schools in England). Beside the entry stands Little John a deacon of the Church. Tomb of St. Lazarus (Raising of Lazarus) is in this Church.
The English Cemetery, Larnaca, 1908
Quarter-plate. In one corner of the yard of St. Lazarus Church. This was used for tombs of consuls and their relatives, sea captains and merchants long before the British occupation. When St. Lazarus Church was attacked on one occasion some of these tomb stones were removed to the front of the Church, and under the plea of English the Church was saved from destruction.
