Captain A.E.H Raikes, 1905
109 x 153 mm. A full length portrait of Arthur Raikes (1867-1915) wearing the Brilliant Star of Zanzibar and a uniform probably of his own design and worn in connection with his work in Zanzibar. Raikes held the local rank of Brigadier General. He commanded the Sultan’s forces from 1894-1906 and was First Minister to the Sultan from 1906-1908.
