View across the lake in the Government Botanical Gardens at Buitenzorg towards the Governor General's Palace, a long low building with an extended hexastyle portico projecting out towards the lake. The building is topped by a small dome and is here seen from the rear. In the lake are the pads of the lily Victoria Regia.
