148 x 193 mm. Situated at the junction of Bourke Street and Elizabeth Street, the photograph shows the ornate building with its large clock-tower. The main part of the building was constructed between 1859-1867, the part third storey and the clock-tower being added later and completed in 1889. The building was designed by A.E. Johnson.

A view of the State Governor’s residence in the Domain, a building Italianate in style, with a square tower on one corner of the main building, and reputed to be derived from Osborne House in the Isle of Wight. The building was designed in the Public Works Office when W.W. Wardell was in charge, and was built between 1872-1876.

204 x 155 mm. A view showing the façade and one side of the building, which overlooks the Treasury Gardens. Said to be the work of M. Egan, construction of the buildings began in 1859, but they were not completed until 1876. The stone carving of the Royal Coat of Arms over the main entrance can only be partially seen in this view.
