A view looking seawards past the obelisk which marks Captain Cook's landing place in 1770; with a jetty projecting out in to the bay. Kurnell lies on the Kurnell Peninsula, which forms the southern headland enclosing Botany Bay.

Lady Macquaries Chair-Sydney Harbour, 1888 - 1889
210 x 155 mm. A view of the large block of sandstone, with carved steps and a carved inscription, with Farm Cove partly visible at the left of the picture. The carving was done in 1816 so that the Governor’s wife could rest and look across the harbour on the walk back from the town to Government House.

Lands Office, Sydney, 1908
A view of the building, similar in design to the Chief Secretary's Office and also designed by James Barnet in 1877. The photograph is taken from the junction of Bridge Street and Macquarie Place. The building was started in 1877 but by 1888 only the north-west corner was finished.

Lansdowne Bridge, 1885
244 x 255 mm. A three-quarter front view of the fine stone bridge with one arch of 150 foot span. Designed and built by David Lennox in 1834-5, it was opened to traffic in 1836, and is still in use. The bridge crosses Prospect Creek near Liverpool. Sir T.L. Mitchell's name is printed at the corner of the page.
