Petua, 1968-03
Contains slides including a group of seven interiors of Marnham's house taken in August 1968, three showing servants in February 1968 and one of the visit of the Mayor for the celebration of the Queen's birthday on 20 April 1968. The majority show the garden, from scenes in April 1967 to seven transparencies making up a panorama taken on the eve of departure in March 1970. In between these are extensive views both of individual clumps of flowers and more general scenes.

Water colours and pen and ink sketches documenting Anderson's travels in southern Africa, accompanied by his original captions and explanatory notes. The original titles and captions have been enclosed in single quotation marks, and have been transcribed in the catalogue as found, with the exception of an egregiously offensive term used in some titles, which has not been transcribed. Where possible, modern place names have been supplied.

Album of mostly 80 x 54 mm prints. There is a brief list describing items 1-98, which document the trip from Southampton to South Africa, travel in South Africa, and the visit to Southern Rhodesia. Many photos do not appear in the exact numerical order given in the listing. The rest of the images are uncaptioned, but their general locations have been identified by reference to the diary RCMS 353/1.

Photograph of Cape Town Cathedral, 1976
A photograph of a watercolour depicting a Roman Catholic cathedral in Cape Town. The size of the copy, 14" x 9¾", is identical to the original painting, which was presented to the Society by Miss M. Pigot Moodie in 1939, and sold through C.J. Sawyer in December 1975. Pencilled at the bottom of the picture is 'Roman Catholic Cathedral' and 'Bowler 1888'. Frank R. Bradlow, a writer on Bowler, considered the painting to be an authentic Bowler, and that the date was a later addition.

A collection of photographs of Basutoland (now Lesotho) and Zululand taken or collected by Wren Robinson while engaged in educational and welfare work. Most have handwritten captions by Mrs Robinson either underneath or on the back.
Photographs and postcards of the 1913 and 1922 strikes, 1913 - 1970
Items 1-4 deal with the 1913 strike. Items 5-12 document significant sites associated with the 1922 strike, pointed out by a Mr van Tonder, who has yet to be identified. It is likely that he is either E. van Tonder or H.J. van Tonder who appear in the Trade Union Council of South Africa records.

A collection of high quality photographs, measuring 210 x 160 mm, mounted on black album sheets. They are uncaptioned but most have been identified from books on the Cape and on South African architecture; 25-31 are almost certainly photographs of Zulu peoples; the remainder are less clearly identified. Photographer unknown.

A collection of loose photographs. The prints measure approximately 120 x 95 mm and are probably by the donor Morton Green. All the photographs have brief pencilled captions and are numbered on the reverse. The captions have been used as titles and have been recorded as found.

You can see the typical transport of the country. They use either donkeys or oxen. The Church is called St Martins in the Field, and is an exact copy. It was built in 1866 but the stone is still perfectly white.
