From internal evidence it was compiled by Dr Cuthbert Christy, but was not with his papers and photographs received from the Royal African Society in 1972. Scope and Contents 206x149mm. A view from the S. side of Dalhousie Square looking across the Tank towards the Post Office and Writers Buildings. The Post Office, with its reinforced concrete dome of over 220 feet and colonnaded facade in the composite order, was designed by Waiter B. Granville, Architect to the Government of India. The foundation was laid in 1864 and the building opened to the public (although not entirely completed) in 1868. It stands on part of the site of Old Fort William. See also...
